Green Building Council to host sustainability director from London Olympics
THE GREEN Building Council of South Africa will host a Green Building Convention at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in October 2012. Green building convention is one of the highlights on the SA sustainability calendar. The convention always delivers cutting edge and global best practice in green building. This year’s headline keynote speaker will be the Head of Sustainability and Regeneration for the London 2012 Olympics.
One of the topics that will be discussed is ‘Sustainability and London Olympics Park 2012: Lessons for the Transformation of the Cities’ , this will highlight the sustainability aspects of the Olympic Park which are set to bring new life to the East End of the City of London.
The convention includes two days of keynote speeches, panel discussions and facilitated debates on topical sustainability issues. The two pre-conference education day hosts expert master classes and workshops to maximize knowledge sharing.There will also be exhibition for built environment professionals who are seeking to keep ahead of the curve in terms of sustainable building service providers, suppliers and products and materials.
The convention showcases the best global sustainability solutions available in Africa and opportunities to rub shoulders with key decision makers and industry professionals. Delegates will have access to essential and vital knowledge such as updates on Green Star SA, government policies, the greening of existing buildings and the economics and socio-economic sustainability of green building.
